Our Programs

Our Saturday workshops run from September through May and offer a genuine theater experience to young people on the spectrum who are both good at imitation and "working on it," verbal and non-vocal.

The underlying goal is to create a community of actors, or ensemble, through carefully selected  traditional and innovative theatre activities including theatre games, improvisation, song, creative movement,  dance, and playmaking. A separate 6-session playwriting group is also offered each year.

Our workshops have a predictable structure and rhythm that makes it possible for all to enter into the work. Actors are supported by a range of trained Teaching Artists who play alongside the actors and offer graduated guidance, prompting and fading.  Our annual performances offer actors the opportunity to perform in front of an audience.

ACT's year-end performance is fun and my son is always excited to strut his stuff onstage!
